Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is made up of energetic and eager students! The school is a Title I school with over 74% of our students that are multilingual learners.
My students are eager to learn and I want them to have the tools to make that happen!
Due to the language barrier and other socioeconomic factors, my students are not currently working on their grade level. They do not have the necessary prior knowledge or materials at home and have fallen behind their peers in mathematics. Many of them are not enthusiastic about learning math because it is overwhelming for them. It is hard for them to learn the material on their grade level because they lack number sense and basic skills.
My Project
This project includes a Teachers Pay Teachers Gift Card and additional ink for my printer. I can use these to purchase differentiated math activities for each student based on their needs. This resource will also be perfect for me to create personalized math intervention activities if the need to go virtual arises (which hopefully it will not!).
These resources will enable me to create various activities for my individual learners.
The Math Scramble game looks very engaging and will help my students strengthen their number sense skills. All of my students will benefit from these intervention activities. In addition, I have included some behavior incentives for the students and additional writing materials that can be utilized at home or school.
