This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It's almost competition season! Dance students have performed at three schoolwide assemblies, at the schoolwide dance, and now we're ready to move onto the next level...competition.
Skirts, hats, leggings - these awesome outfits will take us through our next performances and competitions for years.
These items were selected by students for students. Meaning, that they will be well loved and worn with pride at all our upcoming events.
Dance is new this year and has made an impact on our school and school culture. For example, Dance students are more likely to attend school, participate in classes, and get passing grades. I mean...they are on a contract. But, Dance students are genuinely excited to participate and bring joy to our school.
Plus! Dance supports mental health. Really! All of our dances are student created and allow for creativity and real student voice. This is a unique way to support students.
We have been fortunate to get poms, but we have no money for anything. Therefore your donation to Let's Dance is super important to continue to grow the Dance program at my school.
