Many commented that the skirts made them feel like a \"real team,\" which immediately boosted their confidence and sense of belonging.\r\n\r\nWe began using the skirts in January for our competition season, and they made a meaningful difference in both performance quality and student morale. Because the skirts allow for ease of movement and consistency in appearance, dancers were able to focus fully on technique, expression, and teamwork rather than worrying about comfort or fit. It's so much easier to ask them to take out the yellow sheet than it is to help them to memorize the title of every task. It's infinitely easier for me to help them find assignments when we're hunting for the bright green paper. I tend to use one color per week, so that the color also lets me know when the work was due.\r\n\r\nHeadsets are used to help students listen to audiobooks and to background music while working independently. But we also use them to help students focus on the task at hand and block out the sounds of other students.\r\n\r\nFidgets can be a bit controversial. Some students treat them as toys which then become distractions. The boys are loving the Jake Maddox series--with just one complaint: they want more books about their favorite sport.\r\n\r\nIt's so much easier to entice reluctant readers to engage when I can offer them good books.
