This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first grade students are enthusiastic and eager to learn. They spend their day engaged in hands-on learning experiences. My students are given opportunities to develop their social skills as well as their academic skills.

As a classroom, they work together to learn and work; however, this year it will be different.

This year, they will need all the resources from the classroom at home in order to learn. My students are a diverse group of learners who work hard, help one another, make mistakes, and encourage everyone to try their best. Now more than ever it is important to stay active, create, and play.

At school we learn through play, music, partnerships, groups, literature, dance, and hands-on experiences. We have fun while learning!

My Project

Art is necessary in my first grade classroom. It allows for my first graders to use their imagination while learning about lines, shapes, and colors.

Creating art is an essential part of writing, reading, science, and math instruction!

My students received crayons and markers to take home during distance learning and we have been creating art pieces for reading, math, and writing order for them to explain how they now about topics we are learning in those subject areas.

For instance, in writing, we learned about nouns. My students were able to create a noun town using paper, crayons, and scissors. They drew people, places, things, and animals, colored them and placed them on a drawing of their town and made it interactive.

I want to send home paint in order for them to paint and explore colors at home. Using the cups, will allow me to transport paint that we have in the classroom in order for them to create art pieces that allows them to be creative.They will use the construction paper while creating their art pieces.
