Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The final state tests are coming up. I would like for my students to create a review interactive booklet to help them review the topics that we have learned and also create a visual learning study guide. Students need notebooks, pencils and construction paper to make them.
Visual learning is a magic key in learning, this allows students to see and have hands a creative fun, engaging and learning environment.
In the book Classroom Instruction that Works, Marzano, Pickering, and Pollock state “taking notes and summarizing information is a proven thinking strategy that helps to increase student achievement and retain new information”. Providing students with information and then asking them to use thinking strategies to actively interact with it in some way helps the information to stick in their brains.
