My Project

Imagine a bustling classroom filled with bright, energetic pre-kindergarten students, eager to learn and explore! My wonderful class of 16 students, ranging from 3 to 5 years of age, at William Ramsay Elementary School, loves read alouds, group discussion, independent reading, and most of all movement breaks involving dancing. However, our current whole group learning space lacks adequate comfortable seating, especially for activities on the floor. Students often jostle for position, leading to distractions and a diminished sense of personal space during crucial learning moments.

Currently, when we gather on the carpet for read-alouds, morning meetings, or group work, children often sit too close together.

This can lead to fidgeting, minor squabbles over space, and a general lack of focus. For many of my students, having their own defined 'spot' is crucial for their concentration and emotional well-being. Without clear boundaries, some students struggle to maintain personal space, which can hinder their ability to fully engage in lessons and interact positively with peers.

I'm requesting a large, natural tone classroom rug with defined seating squares to transform our gathering space. This rug isn't just a decorative item; it's a foundational tool for creating a more orderly, comfortable, and respectful learning environment. The generous size will give each child a clear sense of their own personal space.

With this new rug, my students will experience enhanced focus and engagement and increased personal space and comfort. Your generous donation, no matter the size, will directly impact my students' daily learning experience, providing them with the comfort and personal space they need to thrive. Thank you for considering supporting our classroom and helping us create a more focused and harmonious learning environment!
