My Students

Sometimes to make a difference you need to clean house and start fresh. I have dedicated this school year to reorganizing my classroom. In order to make that happen, I need magnetic storage containers to better utilize my whiteboard and turn it into a working math and science center for my students.

I teach fourth grade to a very energetic bunch of boys and girls.

Our school is a neighborhood school that supports and educates its children. My school receives help from the Title 1 and Free Lunch programs. I would love to say that my students have everything that they need, but that is not true. With recent changes in our school budget, we have not been able to order supplies or needed resources for our students. So I need your help to make my classroom makeover a success.

My Project

I have redesigned my classroom this year in preparations for a big change. I will be teaching math on three different grade levels. It will be a big challenge, but I love my students and they need the individual instruction below, on, and above grade level. In taking on the task, I want to use my whiteboard as a daily center that the students can use during center time. In order for that to happen, I would need magnetic storage boxes for the whiteboard. Having math card games in these storage boxes for my students to use on their own for practice will free me up to give extra instruction to those in need. I will also have a daily computer center that my students can use to practice math and science skills. Children love computers and instead of paper and pencil practice, they can use the computer games to sharpen their skills.

The job is a huge one, but I love my students and I love teaching math.

Having a basic foundation in math is not enough anymore. Our students need the instruction and knowledge that will place them on the same level as the rest of the world and we can give them that with your support and help.
