Let's Color Our Math Interactive Notebook

Help me give my students a wireless HP All-In-One laser printer, a replacement HP laser toner cartridge, colored felt pens, and brightly colored copy paper to produce eye-catching notes for interactive math notebooks.

My Students

The students at my school are some of the most exceptional in our district. Being a magnet school, they come from three different attendance zones where almost all of them go on to attend a two or four year post-secondary institution. For many of them they are the first generation to attend college. The students are very inquisitive about learning and have a great interest in applying what they learn.

Every student has strengths, talents, and determination; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or encouragement to get them to see that they can do anything that they put their mind to.

I often encourage them to learn from their mistakes and let them know that I do believe in them. They may start out weak in some math areas, but by the time that they leave my classroom they are more confident in their math capabilities.

My Project

All of the supplies that we are asking for will allow us to create and print colorful notes throughout the year. No longer will my students have to wait until the next day to get a copy of the notes. With the All-In-One laser printer, I can print or copy papers for my students much quicker without leaving the classroom.

The interactive math notebook is a student's personal textbook that the students create, and the use of color in the notebook makes the math easier to understand.

Our interactive notebook is a daily project. The students enjoy seeing and writing in color. The color from the paper and pens would help them to remember the information. Having a wireless All-In-One HP laser printer would allow students to receive their handouts quickly without much delay in the lessons. The students could even have the opportunity to create and print their own notes.
