My students are a well-rounded group of second graders that attend our school nestled in a quiet, residential neighborhood within a major metropolitan California city. Approximately half of our school's student population participate in the free or reduced-price lunch program. Many students return home after school to apartments and shared, multi-generation households where often both parents work two jobs to provide for their children. Our classroom has been structured to be a safe, comfortable and accepting place for ALL students to focus on their academic and creative success.
My Project
This proposal is simple. My students need some new board games they can enjoy during free choice time. Additionally, we all work together to keep the room clean, so my students will all share the task of sweeping up our classroom with these broom and dust pan sets. Finally, my students need to have a large ten frame set that I can use when teaching the ten-frames addition and subtraction math strategy.
These board games, ten-frames, and broom sets will all add to the productive, safe, and fun classroom that we enjoy.
We hope you will consider donating to our classroom.
