This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Meet Richmond's Littlest Lions! We are a classroom of 12 special needs children - most of my kiddos have autism. They are bright, beautiful, and curious to learn. Each and every one of my students have individual needs that vary from learning how to use basic daily skills, social emotional needs, and academic needs.

We are ready to return to the classroom after COIVD distance learning, so we need to plan for the new year.

My Project

Many of my students need socialization and interaction with their peers. When we have a birthday in the classroom, it gives us a perfect opportunity to celebrate the individual, give them attention, and have peer interaction (which is not so easy for us).

While incorporating their special day, we can spend time learning one of our favorite books spoken about in the classroom, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and their birthday!

Each student will be able to take home the book, along with choosing a sensory pop-it toy that has been listed for purchase.
