My Students
What do you remember about your classes in middle school? We are working to develop students' work ethic, learning potential, and social development. We want our students to take ownership of the connection between effort and outcomes. Plus, let's make school and learning fun!
My students are amazing learners and exciting young people.
While the majority of students at our school hold low socioeconomic status, we never use this real factor as an excuse for low academic achievement. My school is transforming students' futures through various ways, from integration of technology, to raising test scores and reading levels at impressive rates, to pushing more students to be competitive for top public high schools in Baltimore City as well as local private schools. Every staff member works towards our school motto and pushes students to do the same: "100% for 100%".
My Project
Students at C. have an opportunity to be positively rewarded for meeting high academic and behavioral expectations. Through our use of PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Systems), students have a "school store" in which they purchase items with checks earned through meeting academic and behavioral requirements. Some items in this project include pencils, pens, snacks, Sudoku/puzzle books, and other engaging materials! Not only does this motivate students to even higher levels of achievement, but also assists students with basics of financial planning and budgeting. Some students save up for the big rewards!
Donations for this project help invest middle school students further toward success.
Items for our school store are an exciting prospect for students on a weekly basis. Overall, your choice to donate to this project will positively impact classroom culture and student achievement. Remember everything that happened during middle school? We are working to maximize the potential of our students, and keep the focus on positive, learning-focused classes. With your help, we can!
