This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Just think how boring it would be if we were all alike and there were no differences among us to make each person unique. As our society becomes more diverse, it is important that students learn to value and use diversity to the greater good.
My students attend an urban elementary school in a lower socioeconomic neighborhood in Louisiana.
Our students are in grades PK through 8th. The majority of them receive free lunch services. We also have a population of homeless students. My students are hard workers, enthusiastic, and enjoy new challenges.
My Project
My Kindergarten students will utilize the Apple ipad mini to utilize ebooks, research, and look at authentic articles to learn about diversity. The mini ipad will be used to reinforce character building skills and allow them to research cultural diversity. My students will have the opportunity to learn and explore diversity, utilizing the latest technology for educational purposes. Technology helps my students become more engaged in the learning process.
Think about how technology has impacted your life in a positive way.
Their lifelong learning and passion will be more evident with the right tools and technology. My kindergarten students must be immersed into the world of technology in the classroom daily so that they will be prepared for a diverse workforce that utilizes technology.
