Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every student deserves to walk into a clean, welcoming, and joyful classroom—one that not only supports learning but also reflects their identity and culture. As a middle school teacher in a Title 1 school, I want my classroom to be a space where students feel safe, proud, and respected every single day. To do that, we need help keeping our space tidy and visually uplifting all year long.
The materials I’m requesting—cleaning supplies and seasonal decorations—may seem simple, but they make a powerful difference.
Cleaning products help us maintain a healthy, organized space where students can focus on learning, not germs or clutter. Meanwhile, having inclusive and diverse holiday decorations allows every student to feel seen and celebrated, no matter what traditions they come from. From cultural observances like Diwali and Lunar New Year to classroom celebrations of winter, spring, and everything in between, decorations help students take pride in who they are. These tools not only brighten our room but also teach students about respect, representation, and community.
Our school serves a diverse and vibrant group of learners, many of whom come from low-income households. As a Title 1 school, our budget is often stretched to cover the basics, leaving little room for extra supplies that bring comfort and belonging into the classroom. By donating to this project, you are helping to create an environment where students feel valued and inspired.
