This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students learn best when concepts are presented through a wide range of modalities, including: visual (seeing), and tactile (touching) and kinesthetic. When teaching learners of varying abilities and challenges, the more senses or modalities we can activate, the more learning will take place. We are in need of manipulatives that will help our students with their motor development and social skills as well as cognitive abilities. Our students need building blocks that will require them to use their muscles in their little fingers which helps develop their fine/gross motor skills as well as work on their pre academic skills (colors, shapes, etc). Our preschool program is fortunate to have been provided some blocks but sadly they have been utilized to their end, we are in dire need of new building blocks for rotation and sustainability of the materials throughout the years to come.
