Let's Build Robots!

Help me give my students supplies to create robots! Students love programming robots and are now interested in creating robots. Please help our students become scientists, engineers, and inventors through moving from consumers to creators.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Rae's classroom raised $444

My Students

Our students are readers and explorers. Their excitement to read engaging books is clear. They also love to make and create. Our students are artists. They are very active. We want to give our students opportunities to authentically share their learning. Our student population is diverse. Our population breakdown: 26.7% African American, 26.3% Hispanic/Latino, 30.8% White, and 11.5% two or more races. 63.4% of our students are economically disadvantaged. 12.4 of our students have disabilities. 26.1% of our students have limited English proficiency. Students in Kindergarten and First grade learn half their day in English and half of their day in Spanish.

Our students are very active, intelligent, creative, and determined.

Each year we will add another grade of dual language immersion (DLI) classes until there is at least one section of DLI within each grade level. Finally, we are a nationally recognized Welcoming School and we intentionally teach ally behavior especially by supporting the LGBT community and individuals.

My Project

Students here are lucky to have robots they can program.  Through coding and programing, students are growing and learning.  Now students want to create robots.

Students want to build robots.

In order to create robots, students need motors, wires, and cups. Building robots empower students.  Students demonstrate diverse skills when building and making. We will use this project to make robots called Scribble Bots.

Skills that require creation are not always present during traditional subjects.  Students shine when we create lesson and units based on their interest and skills.  Students now want to learn how to build robots.  Your donation will help students soar.
