This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Writing is so important in learning, and my students are missing out on some essentials to bring their voice out in our classroom.
My students are a combination of amazing people from all over the world.
Many of our students are refugees from around the world, There are over 40 languages spoken within our school and many different cultures in our classroom. Our students have embraced learning and are now placing higher than ever in testing and achievement. They are truly a success story.
My Project
The uniting factor in our classroom is the English language which allows us to communicate and allows the students to take ownership of their learning. My goal is to help my students bring out their voices by providing them lapboards and markers, which allows them to participate in a low risk environment, which will encourage more students to participate . This will allow me to ensure that all students are involved and will help them take more pride and focus in their learning.
The pencils and sharpener allow us to continue that learning in a personal way. They will provide my students with needed supplies so they can demonstrate their knowledge and understanding.
Many of our students come from a background where education is not considered an important life goal.
We have created a want for education within our students, and these supplies will help that along as it allows them to be successful and not have missing materials standing in their way.
