This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students all learn math in the same room! This does make for some interesting and productive learning experiences. However, with the large variety of students traveling through our singular space, along came disorganization!

Plainly stated, my students are an absolute inspiration.

My 300 students represent many countries, cultures, and languages - we are a literal microcosm of the globe. Despite our wealth of cultural experience in the student population, we are economically underrepresented as a high-poverty school. Because of this, we often face the challenge of lacking access to basic maintenance resources to keep up a tidy, efficient, and aesthetically supportive learning environment.

My Project

I am basically requesting some maintenance materials for our shared space: a vacuum cleaner, pencil sharpeners, frames for artwork, materials organizers, classroom timers, and cleaning supplies will help keep our space organized, safe, and productive. We otherwise are unable to procure such materials, outside of personal expenditures which are already getting quite high this early on in the year. Students will be assisted in their organization and presentation of both classwork and math project work, as well as be able to safely travel through our shared space.

Our shared classroom gets quite crowded throughout the day.

We have 6th, 7th, and 8th graders all sharing the same space and some maintenance and cleaning materials would tremendously improve our academic experience by enhancing the comfort of our classroom. Our children better succeed when they recognize that we care about their educational experience by providing an organized and safe space in which they can learn. Your support of this project will do just that.
