Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a first-grade dual language immersion Spanish teacher to fifty respectful, responsible and safe student leaders who display school expectations throughout the school campus daily.
My students work hard each and every day to achieve the educational concepts they need to learn to become successful student learners.
Our school is one of two dual language immersion programs offered within our school district. My students are in a 50/50 model dual language immersion program that is currently developing. My students are exposed to the Spanish language 50% of the school day. 95% of my students are Spanish language learners who are generally not exposed to the Spanish language outside of school. My students desire Spanish language proficiency although Spanish can be very challenging at times for them. Therefore, my students need a variety of Spanish material to help expose them to content that will help support and engage them in there a way to becoming bilingual scholars.
My Project
Get Your Teach On is an impactful national teachers conference that has made news headlines all over the United States! A Get Your Teach On conference will be taking place in October 2019. The GYTO national teachers conference will be for current teachers in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade.
Help me get my teach on by sending me to a wonderful impactful teachers conference alongside amazing educators from all over the United States.
The GYTO conference will provide me with current research-based strategies that will spark my students interest in learning! Each day of the GYTO conference provides all-day interactive and hands-on opportunities to learn how to implement strategies and skills into the classroom to create a community of active and engaged learners. This conference gives teachers opportunities to walk away with new strategies, resources, and skills to bring into the classroom the very next day! The presenters will be educators like Hope and Wade King, Deanna Jump and other presenters that a multitude of experience within the classroom. They will share their tips, tricks and best practices to building a successful and engaging classroom.
This two-day conference will provide me with a new view on teaching and add new instructional practices that I can implement in my classroom the very next day!
