Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My amazing and enthusiastic Transitional Kindergarteners and Kindergarteners are enrolled at a school where all children receive free lunch. This is a Title I school with 425 students, and it is located in Lincoln Heights, a small community in Los Angeles.
Although they are primarily English Language learners with little support from home, they are always eager and ready to learn.
Because of their positive attitude and enthusiasm, I want to provide them with the best opportunities to be successful in their education.
My Project
Due to the challenges of the COVID-19, our classroom experience will be a new one. Help me to offer each of my students a safe return to school with an individual bin to keep their own school supplies and materials.
Not only will this storage bin help keep the supplies and materials safe from contamination, it can also teach organizational skills and independence!
It will provide a good sense of independence in being able to follow directions and to select the right materials needed in their own learning. In return, this will help them evolve a good sense of pride in what they are able to accomplish.
