My Project

Due to COVID, the students in my classroom spent most of their kindergarten year online. This year in 1st grade, students have been spaced out and sit on plastic chairs daily. Incorporating flexible seating will help me create an environment that is safe, fun, and comfortable, while also providing a space that prioritizes student choice, encourages collaboration, and increases student engagement.

I believe that students learn best when they feel comfortable in their environment!

This project includes flexible seating options that are easy to space out and sanitize such as stools, scoop chairs, and cushions. I have also requested items such as sensory bands for the chairs in my classroom, so that students may fidget with their feet. I hope that by providing flexible seating opportunities, my students will be able to maximize their learning and feel comfortable in a student-centered environment!
