This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are ready to learn and ready for a 21st Century classroom. Environment shapes experience, and a classroom is no exception to this rule. My students need to be ready to collaborate in a comfortable seat. Gone are the days of sitting at a desk and a typical chair.

My students are so eager for every learning opportunity!

It is my job to create a comfortable environment for my students. I am excited to see changes within my classroom environment and seating arrangements. I love what I do every day, and I love giving students every opportunity to succeed.

My Project

My project is for six balance balls that will be used every day in my classroom. My students will use balance balls during the day, while sitting at their tables. We already have some options for flexible seating, but we are in need of more options for better equity in my classroom.

Balance ball chairs help keep children focused while sitting.

Balance balls will also help with posture and strengthen their core. Balance balls also help keep their little bodies active while they are learning. There is sufficient data stating that students with special learning needs benefit from sitting on balance balls improved behavior and legible word productivity.
