My students need a beanbag seat, a classroom couch, a balance ball chair all for flexible seating. I am asking for math folder games and washable sensory materials to keep the
engaged throughout the day!

My Students
My students are full of life and energy and need diversity in the classroom! They are so much more than their disability states, and for so long, this group of kids has been looked over and pushed aside as being “difficult”. They are all very precious, and really deserve a great classroom atmosphere that they feel they can thrive in everyday as their safe place. I am so excited to be able to bring this to them, and let them feel they have someone that will never give up on them!
My Project
The children in this class are all on the spectrum with autism. However, they have never truly received the classroom environment that they deserve to have. In the past 3 years, this classroom has been through 6 teachers. A ton of inconsistencies, which is very stressful to their learning environment. I am a first-year teacher but have worked as a para in this classroom for years. I want them to be able to feel comfortable and ready to learn in the classroom and have a sense of stability whenever they enter the room. I think providing them with the tools to be able to move around the room freely will be great in getting them motivated again for school! The bean bag chair, ball, and others are good way to allow them to have flexible seating so they are not forced to stay in one seat all day, and can move around the room. The sensory game and math games will be great to keep the children engaged so that we are not day after day doing textbook work.
