This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students are curious about how things work, grow or change. The Science materials will engage the scientist/student to have an understanding of how their world works... while maximizing student opportunity to learn.
My kindergarten students will be beginning to discover the wonders of science.
They will attend school in a very large urban district in Texas where our science resources are very limited. My curious little students will get a head start at exploring their world around them!
My Project
Students will have an opportunity to not only develop a deeper conceptual understanding of science, but also during their science experiences and investigations enhance a genuine interest in science through multiple, engaging, and hands-on science activities. The butterfly garden set will allow the students to see the metamorphosis of the butterfly. The Root-vu, Sprout and Grow, will enable the students to see the parts of the plants as the plant grows. The Instant Science Learning Centers will be easily accessible along with related science books, and laboratory tools. The science activities or experiments will allow the students to become problem-solvers, and encourage them to work together in teams without direct instruction to find solutions or make further investigations. Thus, an increased student engagement and motivation will ignite their learning as they begin to raise questions and find answers in conducting science investigations.
Science materials will empower students to become future scientists by helping them master essential science concepts and vocabulary.
Also will help them achieve higher order thinking skills and foster an encouraging environment to explore and discover.
