This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help aspiring musicians have the supplies they need to play their instruments! Playing music is more than just having an instrument. Often overlooked is the expense of instrument accessories. Clarinets and Saxophone players need reeds to make their instruments sound. Trumpet and other brass players need oil to lubricate their instrument valves. Drummers often need to replace their drum heads, sticks, and mallets used on their instruments as they wear them down every time they play. Sadly, the cost of maintaining adequate accessories for their instruments often discourages students from participating in band classes.
When participating in Band, students learn to expand their minds with knowledge and skills they can transfer to other life experiences.
Band students learn the value of teamwork, dedication, self-discipline, creativity, leadership, and responsibility. Music students are also faster learners, are better able to multi-task, and use higher-order thinking skills when compared to non-music students. Since participation in Band has many benefits, it is always unfortunate when students must give up playing their instrument because they cannot afford their supplies.
Our goal is to always have donated supplies at hand for those students whose families struggle with supplies cost. Be the hero Band students are waiting for. Donate instrument accessories today. Thank you so much for your generosity. :-)
