I teach at a wonderful school located in the middle of a community that we call the "Tree Streets". The Tree Streets community is one that has a special feel to it. The school is located in the heart of this unique and diverse community, where everyone is accepted and understood. Our school is one of high poverty, but is not lacking in love! The students here are as unique as the street in which the school is built on.
“STEAM” is one of the newest terms you may hear in the area of education these days. No, we are not taking about locomotives. We are talking about a movement created to help incorporate more Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math into our curriculum. “STEAM” activities are designed to light the fire of creativity and Engineering in students. Having a mobile STEAM cart available at my school would entice many teachers at my school to use the activities more often. The mobile STEAM cart includes a Rapunzel Problem Solving STEM Kit, Gingerbread Man Problem Solving STEM Kit, Block Play STEM Early Learning Kit, Survive the Quake Engineering Kit, The Three Billy Goats Gruff Problem Solving STEM Kit, STEM Science with magnets, Bridge Building Engineering Center, House Building Engineering Center, Create-A-Chain Reaction STEM Kit and Engineer-A-Coaster Activity Kit.
All of these activities are geared for Pre-k-2nd grade.
If I am granted funding for this project, I intend on sharing it with my co-workers! This station would be great to wheel around from classroom to classroom! If you give to this project, you are not only giving my students, but to all of the students in my school!
If you donated to this project, you can sign in to leave a comment for Ms. Mains.
