Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help my students become more than a statistic. The children in my class come from struggling homes in a low-income community in Maryland. Almost the entire population receives a free or reduced-price lunch. About 30% are English language learners from a variety of places around the world. My students are active, eager, and smart in their own ways. They know about injustice, bias, and trauma because they have lived already challenging lives.

When my students come into my class, I try to give them a vacation from their home lives that are often clouded in poverty, drug, or alcohol abuse, or, sadly, a lack of love and attention.

My students are pieces of my heart, and I wish I could do more for them, but there is only so much one person can do. With your generous help, I will be one step closer to giving them the childhood and youth that every single kid in our world deserves. Thank you for helping and bringing more love and joy to our classroom.

My Project

My students were recently lucky enough to receive some Sphero mini robots and a Cubetto. THEY ARE OBSESSED! My kids ask for robot and engineering stations EVERY DAY! So I am asking for your help!

Please help bring more robot, coding, and engineering options to our elementary science centers.

Kids love Cubetto and can flex their engineering muscles. My students want to build simple machines. Help them have the same opportunities to experiment and test out their engineering brains as their equals in other, more financially stable schools. My students are just as capable as any other kid. Let's give them a chance to show their stuff!
