My Project

The LEGO building sets in this project will allow my students the opportunity to immerse themselves in LEGO life. I facilitate the lab for my STEM students, from kindergarten through fifth grade. The sets selected will afford them the opportunity to learn how to read and follow and construct from directions, or to allow their creativity to run wild, and free-build anything they can imagine. Whichever path the students choose, they will be empowered, knowing that they can accomplish whatever they set their minds to.

My students are of varying levels, so the LEGO sets I chose will be able to be used by my emerging and social functioning students all the way to the most gifted, allowing all to succeed.

I have carefully selected STEM-based items that will appeal to all my students. The saying in my classroom is, "We never give up in the STEM lab!" The LEGO sets will allow the students to see the value in communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity, resulting in valuable life-long skills that can be used in and out of the classroom.
