My Students

My students are kind, hardworking, funny, smart... in one word, they are fantastic.

The Honors chemistry program is very intense.

There is a lot of work, lots of labs. The course keeps my students very busy. But they do not complain. Even the students who struggle want to succeed. They are very persistent. They often come to me at lunchtime for extra help. They are a no-nonsense group of kids and eager to succeed.

Many will take the AP Chem course next year, and I feel that they will be ready!

My Project

We recently found out that our chemistry storage cabinets were not up to code and got a citation by the fire Marshall.

We were quite embarrassed but in this middle of the school year, there are no funds to purchase a much needed cabinet that will be in compliance and meet all applicable OSHA and NFPA Code 30 standards for storage of flammable liquids.

Of course, our goal No. 1 is to keep our students, our colleagues and our school building safe as well.
