My students need These 11 ipods to listen to daily updates of the news as well as lesson by lesson "minute" government teachings from the Center for Civic Education.

I teach two periods of senior government and we are participating in the "We The People Program" sponsored by Congress. The curirrulum is covers the foundation of our Constitution and all the thought and the debate that went into it. The Center for Civic Education has a great website and has provided many services for both teachers and students related to the study. The website has on it many podcasts that are mini teachings that students can download and listen to and study to help them in their understanding of our foundational principles of government. I can not say enough about this program. My students are so excited about our Constitution and our great country that teaching government this year is a joy. These ipods would go a long ways to enhance an already exciting program with the ability to record and listen to the daily news and the podcasts provide by the Center for Civic Education.

Many of my students come from low income families who don't always value education. This tool will enable the students to hear mini teachings that they at times will not read. These mini teachings will also give deeper understanding to those who do read, as well as reach those who are the audio learners.

The eleven ipods requested in this project will enable my students to record and listen to the daily news, mini lessons and lessons in the government text. My audio learners will especially benefit but all students will benefit as today's students are so tuned into technology. This equipment will make my room more interesting and learner friendly.

Your help will make it possible for my classroom to add a whole new dimension. In today's world it is important to present every opportunity we can for students to experience learning through different approaches. These ipods will enable me to pre-record information to give to students in a new and different format that they enjoy.
