My Project
Flexible seating enables students to customize their own learning and make choices that work best for them. Currently my students are choosing to work in different places in our classroom such as: different tables, their desks, sitting on the floor under at a lowered table, or on the floor with a clipboard. However, when sitting at a desk or table, I only currently have standard student chairs. Letting students choose their seating has a great motivational factor. When students are comfortable, they are more engaged and focused, resulting in greater work completion. I feel that giving them chairs that move and seat inserts that wiggle in standard student chairs, will enhance their learning in great ways.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work when they get to choose their own seat to work in.
They are also more focused when they get to move. The products I have selected will enable them to do both.
The rocker chairs I selected will allow students to move while sitting at a table or desk. The seat inserts are portable and can be placed on any chair or the floor and allow students to rock and wiggle as needed. Movement is extremely beneficial for students that just need to get the wiggles out, but also for those that find movement helps them focus.
