Let There Be Movement!

My students need wiggle stools/seats to provide sensory throughout the day and aid them while they maintain focus and complete school work, plus file folders, games, and caddies. They also need science activity tubs and balance balls.

My Students

I teach a special education class in a low income neighborhood. I have 13 incredibly talented and bright boys with special needs. I teach a group of high functioning students with Autism, who make my heart smile on a daily basis. My students spend time in a general education setting as much as they can to interact with typical peers.

The main goal for each of my students is to teach them the necessary skills and how to function in society in a way that is most successful for each individual student.

I teach them the necessary social skills to help them in all settings. Throughout the day sensory needs are met by utilizing different tools in the classroom, such as wiggle seats, exercise balls, weighted pads etc.

My Project

The donations I am requesting will really support my students' academic needs in a variety of ways. My students perform best with hands-on activities and visuals. These games and file folders will give them chances to learn and interact with each other in a fun way. The file folders will also be great support with science units and extra practice with a partner. The caddies will help students maintain organization and work on social skills.

The wiggle seats and stools will give my students a tool to use to help maintain focus during lessons and independent work time.

They will provide my students with the necessary sensory input they need to help them all day. My students love to work together as much as they can!
