My Students
Our school is located in North Miami, a vibrant city with lots of culture and a population of humble people of diverse backgrounds. The community’s per capita income is approximately $20,000 and only 19% of the community has a bachelor’s degree or higher. Most of our students will be first-generation high school graduates and first-generation college students within their families.
Our students need more exposure to sports, cheerleading, dance, performing and visual arts, and they could benefit from learning the basics and proper techniques.
My Project
I plan to have my students produce an entire stage production for the first time. In order to help make this a reality, we need a light board/ controller for use in our black box theatre and/ or auditorium.
With a light board, my students can learn how to properly control the lights during a stage performance.
Stage lights add wonderful effects to performances. Students will begin to learn and understand lighting cues so that our stage performances can run smoothly.
Let's help these students execute their first full production show with the proper equipment.
More than half of students from low‑income households
