Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For children with autism, playing with their peers is a struggle. Autism is a disorder that is characterized by struggles with social skills in the areas of communication, pragmatic language, and social interactions. To create better social skills, students need highly engaging materials to draw them to play along side and with other students.

All of my students are diagnosed with autism, and struggle with playing with their peers, and these sensory tools will give students an opportunity to work on parallel play and eventually playing with others.

The lights and colors will provide sensory stimulation to students. And the educational shapes, numbers, and letters will provide opportunities for students to learn through this play.
