Help me give my students a classroom atmosphere that is bright, happy, and comfortable to be in by providing an update to old, harsh florescent lighting fixtures.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Cormier's classroom raised $274

My Students
I have 15 third grade students in my classroom this year. My students love to use technology that connects to what we are learning and to the world.
While the school has not been updated in some time, the district has tried to keep our building as up to speed as much as possible.
Having the infrastructure is great, and we've worked through many grants to get us the student technology we need. It's unfortunate that we're in a space that hasn't changed in decades. We can make the day a little brighter for my students.
My Project
Our school is close to 90 years old. There are many qualities that make it homey and comfortable to be in, however, the lighting isn't one of them. We have very harsh overhead fluorescent lighting. I avoid using them by having many sets of string lights hanging all around and across the classroom. Recently, my students were commenting that the lights were nice, but the room was a little dark. That day I started looking into different films and theater gels that I could use to diffuse the existing overhead lights, trying to find the best option.
It's time to let the light into our classroom!
I have always spent money on my classroom and my students without a second thought. This time, however, for me to make the purchase myself, it is just not possible, as it is cost-prohibitive. After starting my project here, and looking on-line for the materials, two of my students saw what I was doing. They helped me pick out the right picture of clouds for our classroom, giving them ownership of the project. Our hope is that we can brighten the room, lift our energy, and make our comfy room even more inviting and conducive to the great learning energy that we already enjoy.
