Mr. Knight from Los Angeles CA is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students the opportunity to print how they want. Many times students must print in black and white even though they spend time and effort to make their work visually appealing.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students are from South Central Los Angele where their daily life is just breaking the cycle of previous generations within their families. With this in mind, each of my students is symbolic representation of "Roses in the Concrete" that I am trying to cultivate. My students are continuously looking to improve themselves as they navigate the world around them.
Within my class students participate in rigorous mathematics as they learn to persevere, collaborate, and critique while solving math problems.
While doing this I build a community within my classroom the promotes not only self-improvement but also communal uplifting.
At many schools, the opportunity to print is limited not only by the number of printers a school has but also by the amount of ink it has as well. The ink being purchased is not only limited to the students in my class but it is to be utilized by the students at my school.
Students' work should be represented exactly how they want it not how it has to be limited.
Nor should the materials that I want to print for my students have to be in only black and white. The beauty of education and mathematics comes from the vibrancy of its structure and in many situations, the color adds all the difference between a student understanding something or not.
Beyond just using the ink for materials for my classroom it would be used to allow for different types of projects to take place. In the past, I have had students participate in Project-Based Learning (PBL) opportunities in which they created brochures and flyers but many students could not make them as visually pleasing as their design because of limited ink. Having this ink would ensure that something like that never happens again.
