This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Currently, my classroom has 0 ukuleles. The students are very motivated by instruments and many have shown a great interest in guitars and ukuleles. I try to give them opportunities to learn, listen, and see these instruments in action. However, I currently only have access to one (my personal) ukulele.

All students deserve the opportunity to learn to play an instrument that interests them.

With these ukuleles, I plan on creating a ukulele ensemble for each of my fifth grade classes. This will allow every student in fifth grade to have access to a ukulele during their class period. As a school/district we have access to ukulele videos and tabs; the only thing we are missing are our ukuleles.
