Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Each of our students is special in their own way. At our school, we are a family. The teachers are there to support our students and their families. Our school is a Title I school that supports students of all diversities as well as all socioeconomic levels. Students come to a safe, loving environment to learn. Our town has had an increase in crime levels and disparity, but, at our school, students know they are loved and cared for no matter what!
My Project
I am a teacher that is hard of hearing. I wear hearing aids, but it doesn’t always help with those quiet students in my classroom. I have so many soft spoken kids that I am constantly having to ask them to repeat themselves. They often get embarrassed and don’t want to ever share out because they can’t be heard. The Qball will allow for my students to speak into the ball and amplify their voices so I can hear them without having to ask them to repeat themselves. It would be my hope that my quiet, shy voices would be more willing to speak out if their teacher could actually hear them.
