This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school is a large school with almost 1200 students. Our school is a Title I school. One hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. We have students from all ethnic and economic backgrounds. Our students speak many languages including Arabic, Spanish, English, and Somali.
My students are eager to learn; sometimes this is hard without feeling at a loss when they are unable to feel safe and clean.
I am teaching 6th,7th, and 8th grade ELA. Due to our school being low income and Title I, many of my students aren't able to afford the necessary PPE and supplies. In order to make sure that these students are given all of the assistance we can possibly give, I want to provide them with a comfortable learning environment. I want to break down the barrier in my classroom and provide my students with the BEST education possible with cleaners and bottles.
My Project
These PPE materials are for my students and our classroom to help students transition smoothly back into in-person learning after a year of virtual learning. Supplying my classroom with these masks and wipes along with essential back-to-school supplies is very pricey. I also do not want to burden my families with providing more supplies. So, I am asking for your help!
Having the essential PPE supplies can provide some peace of mind to those who are returning with some anxiety from having COVID-19 or exposure to COVID-19.
The cleaning supplies are for students to wipe down their tablets, desks at the end of class. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will help to ensure students learn in a safe environment
