My Students

My 5th Grade Special Education students work so hard everyday! My students have learning disabilities and some attention problems. At times they have difficulties working in the large classroom and need a smaller space to work. Grade level work can be a challenge for them. They are funny, loving and they want to do well. Because of their needs, I am often working in small groups in the back of the regular education classroom or in the hallway. My students may bring their Chromebooks or their writing notebooks with them and we work as a group to complete the assignments.

My Project

My students will be able to use these writing lap desks during writing workshop in the classroom. These lap desks will give my students the flexibility to work in a small group inside the classroom, or outside of the classroom. The students will be able to use a pencil and paper at these desks or a Chromebooks and be able to sit on the floor. As the teacher, I will be able to sit closely with my students and give them the support they need. My students will be so excited to get to their writing with these new desks!
