This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students enjoy sitting together on the carpet and listening to stories, or simply spreading out on the wide surface to build up block structures.
My transitional kindergarten class consists of the younger kindergarten students.
Our school is located in a low economic area. 100% of the students are Title 1 and qualify for the Free Federal Breakfast and Lunch program. Most of my students come from families who do not speak English. My transitional kindergarten students are enthusiastic about learning and always try their best. I have seen their language, social and academic skills grow everyday. They have shown me that they have the potential to exceed all expectations
My Project
The carpet is the common meeting area to sit when learning new skills during whole group instruction. Unfortunately, our current carpet is very stained and worn out after 10 years of usage. I feel my students deserve to sit on a clean rug. They love to lay down on the carpet and play manipulatives or build up with blocks. The vacuum will help us keep the carpet clean for students. This new carpet will help my children learn their colors and make it easier to divide students into small groups.
Please help me provide my students with a clean area where to sit.
This new carpet will promote classroom management, organize classroom seating and provide the perfect area for classroom activities. TK students love sitting down on the carpet. We are in real need to replace our current one... please make this dream possible.
