Help me give my students a comfy place to sit, using the floor seats that come with an independent learning space provided by a floor space work area lap desk, and colored bins for organization.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students in the fourth grade are very special in so many ways. The biggest reason is these students come from all sorts of diverse backgrounds. There are many needs to be met for them all. They all have very big hearts and their brains are very eager for learning! As a teacher at our IB World school in the heart of St. Paul, they depend on myself and all who support me in what I do so much to give them the love and support they need to make them the best students they can possibly be. Since these students come from backgrounds that may not give them all they need, it is up to me to give them the best learning experiences possible!
The school that I work at is Title I and 98% of the students participate in our free and reduced-price lunch program.
My Project
When the students are given the opportunity to use these materials in the classroom they will have a major feeling of organization, as will I. The materials that we already have in the classroom will be easy to differentiate between leveled books and necessary math materials.
When the students are in groups, doing work, management will be much more efficient.
Having things color-coded will help for transitioning between tasks and clean up.
Finally, having flexible seating available in the classroom allows students to have a choice of where they feel they can do the best learning possible! And they are comfortable.
