This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students all get along and love to be with each other, but we definitely need a lot of help setting up our room to be a great place to walk into everyday. We are in the South Bronx and have a great mix of ethnicities in our room.

My students are fun, energetic four-year-olds that come in ready to learn everyday.

They love to explore and discover new things. For the majority of my students, this is their first exposure to school and I really want to make it a place they run to everyday and are eager to come back when they leave.

With your help, these great kids will have a great start and love education and learning.

My Project

Our children have a love for books that is exciting and new! They love coming in everyday and looking through our classroom books, unfortunately, I do not have a borrow basket. The books in our class can go home but not for all of our classroom books because then we will not have them for the room. I am asking for books that they can borrow from the classroom and share them at home with everyone. We are asking for books that fit in their hands, have colorful pictures they can look through and are simple enough for beginner readers. I am excited to nurture this love they have for these books and to teach them how to enjoy them at different levels.
