Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a baseball/softball unit every year in the Spring. Currently, before we start out hitting I use whiffle balls and bats so that way they get tons of extra swings in. Students love this part of the unit, but one thing continues to make it difficult for kids to be successful.
Students need consistent pitches in order to hit the ball like a pro!
I wish I had the time to teach kids for many hours just how to throw a whiffle ball to each hitter, but time is of the essence. By having these machines kids will get so many more quality pitches and thus chances to improve their swings and hit the ball consistently. I know as an almost 20-year P.E. teacher that this will be money well spent and also give more excitement to hitting practice during this unit. Thanks for supporting our small rural school. Best!
