My Project

Our littlest learners are coming in with some BIG feelings. They want to get along with friends, but some just don't have those social-emotional skills yet. Their brains are at an important phase of development where we can help them learn how to manage these overwhelming feelings in healthy ways.

I am hoping to build a library of social-emotional tools that we can use in our pre-k classrooms to help children develop self-regulation skills.

These tools can be used along with mini-lessons and read alouds so teachers can take time to teach a skill and then how a child can responsibly use a tool to get through any big feelings they are experiencing.

I have also chosen some games and toys that can be used in our early childhood classrooms as a center choice or small group activity to further extend and deepen the mini-lesson content.
