This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

First grade is a crucial years for student's that are learning how to read. Studies show that students are more interested in learning when it is engaging and motivating. It is important to incorporate multiple learning styles in my classroom by providing various tools and manipulatives that students can use during literacy centers. We will use these materials to aide us in the process of becoming life-long readers! Many of the items listed in this project are used daily and tend to run out by the middle of the year, such as pencils and laminating sheets. I am constantly thinking of new ways to motivating and engage my learners, so funding these supplies would make a tremendous different with my new first grade students!
