Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The items I have requested are essential for my students to be successful scholars. During testing time, it is important for scholars to remain focused and be able to concentrate on the test items. Tests are given on iPads or Chromebooks and students need headphones that will be able to block out noise and other distractions. I am requesting headphones that will be more durable and can sustain wear and tear. Those previously bought multiple times this school year while working initially, after a period of time become frayed or tangled from frequent handling.

Spring is a busy time of the year in the classroom and I am encouraged to be creative when making art projects or projects to give to special people.

I incorporate craft activities into my curriculum that express what we have previously talked about in class and give the students the option of using whatever medium they choose to make their individual projects come to life. I love the exposure the students get to the holidays and celebrations and the satisfaction they get from seeing the finished product that they designed or created.

The drawing and art supplies requested will go a long way in helping my students achieve that creative satisfaction. With the end of the year being close, supplies are either depleted or are in extremely short supply.
