My preschoolers are an amazing group of learners! It is a joy to see them enter with smiling faces. 4-5 year olds are so eager to learn, making me committed to providing the best developmentally appropriate experiences for my students.
We are located in a rural, low income, high poverty area where educational experiences are limited.
We are a Pre-K to fifth grade Title I school. One hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
I work with an enthusiastic group of preschoolers who love learning, but not all of my students are provided with materials for exploration at home so having the materials and manipulatives in the classroom allows the children to explore new techniques.
My Project
Preschoolers LOVE to dress up and become someone else. The veterinarian, server, and waitress role-play sets will allow the children to use their imaginations. The mirror is for the children to see what they look like while in the costume.
Dressing up and role playing promotes imagination, cooperation, socialization, and encourages turn taking.
When children are allowed to use their imagination they become great problem solvers as adults.
We have baby dolls in the dramatic play area that they love to pretend to be mom and dad with. The changing table will add another dimension to their imagination with the dolls.
