My Students

The students, that I have the privilege of teaching, are everything that is great about my school! They are eager to learn, kind, and concerned about the world around them. They wonder, ask questions, and look for ways to make the world a better place!

My students are very inquisitive learners who yearn to be challenged at all times.

They are always excited to come to art and learn about different artists and experience new and exciting materials. They look forward to coming to art each week, and I look forward to seeing each and every one of them. I teach in an urban school that is truly a gem. It is a unicorn in the city.

My Project

" Mrs. Manata when can we do clay?" That is the song of the elementary students at my school! They LOVE creating with clay! As ceramic artists there are so many projects that the students can grow, develop and stretch their creativity if we had a slab roller. Right now it it nearly impossible to prepare slabs of clay for over 30 students in a class. A slab roller would solve this problem.

Ceramics is my students "Spirit Animal" so to say- they love creating with clay, and are in awe how dirt can turn to glass with some intense heat.

We are lucky enough to have a kiln, but a slab roller would be the icing on the cake!
