Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are an amazing group of kindergarteners. They come from a low-income area, and have different needs. Within this class, there are English language learners, students with disabilities, and gifted/talented students. They come with some learning experiences because of attending TK or preschool. They are happy children who are eager to learn.
My Project
These last two years have been like no other. The majority of time we were learning via Zoom. It was a very challenging time. But, fortunately, this year is different. We are now together in the classroom. My students are so eager to learn. But there is a problem. I do not have sufficient materials for each student. If I am able to get the magnetic letters set, I can make individual learning baggies. The magnetic wands would help the students with blending which is one of the fundamentals skills in early reading. The various games would help in both small group time and center time. After playing with the students, they would then be able to play independently. The games would reinforce fundamental skills for early reading.
