Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are an enthusiastic group of children who come from a variety of socioeconomic situations and special needs. Students often bring issues from home into school which affects their learning. My classroom is a safe environment where students can work with each other to fulfill their potential.
What makes my students unique is their individual backgrounds and experiences that they bring to the classroom.
They require intense small group and independent instruction to heighten their learning experience. I intend to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all students to not only increase their understanding and retention of academic content, but to also increase their engagement in school.
My Project
The daily flow in a classroom is always busy but children need breaks. K'nex will be used to maximize student engagement while also enhancing learning. They are a hands-on educational building toy that I know my students will love!
Why should all learners sit in the same seat?
They shouldn't and they certainly don't have to! Some students learn best on the floor, some learn best standing and some students need to be in motion to concentrate. Wobble chairs are perfect for students who have trouble sitting still. Engaging their bodies helps them retain information better and work out cognitive problems. Moving and learning is the perfect combo!
